II National Conference on social associations: “Responsibilities and opportunities for an active society”.Thursday July 15th at 9.00 a.m. the II National Conference on social associations was held in Rome at the Congress Centre Matteo Ricci – Gregorian University – Piazza della Pilotta 4, and was promoted by the National Observatory of the Associations of the Welfare Ministry in collaboration with Isfol. The National Conference on Social Associations, foreseen by article 12 of law 383/2000, was the occasion to take stock of the situation in Italy and, quoting the White Book on the future Italian social model, and to represent a first step to open “the constituent season for the Third sector aimed at producing legislative solutions suitable to promote the extraordinary potentialities”. |

The service of the socio-health assistant was born in july 2004 on proposal of the Ministry of health, the Region of Lombardy Higher Health Institute The aim of the project is to catch espresse and not-expressed needs by the weaker elderly people which live in unconfortable areas of Milan metropolitan area areas. Project
To overcome prejudices and stereotypes, to enhance experiences and best practices, to spread information through concrete initiatives on the territory in order to allow for a full participation of the people with disabilities. This is the goal of the project “Disability and Social Exclusion” (DSE) co-financed by the European Commission. Through territorial and communication plans, the programme aims at carrying out a real cultural change for the overcoming of discriminatory behaviours towards people with disabilities, that are still widespread in our country.
