Trip inside social exclusion: National and local policies to fight poverty and marginalization.On the occasion of the European year for combating poverty and social exclusion, a workshop entitled: “Trip inside social exclusion: national and local policies to fight poverty and marginalization”. was held in Rome, on July 21st 2010 at 10.00 a.m. at Cnel library. The initiative, organized by the Ministry of Welfare and Social Policies in collaboration with the Commission of social exclusion investigation (CIES) and with ANCI – CITTALIA, intends to contribute to the reflection and the raise of awareness carried out in the framework of the European Year for combating poverty and social exclusion, with a day dedicated to the presentation of the “Report on policies against poverty and social exclusion” (CIES) and of the study “ Cities on the margin: strategies of intervention on urban poverty” (Ministry of Welfare and Social Policies – ANCI – CITTALIA). |

Project
To overcome prejudices and stereotypes, to enhance experiences and best practices, to spread information through concrete initiatives on the territory in order to allow for a full participation of the people with disabilities. This is the goal of the project “Disability and Social Exclusion” (DSE) co-financed by the European Commission. Through territorial and communication plans, the programme aims at carrying out a real cultural change for the overcoming of discriminatory behaviours towards people with disabilities, that are still widespread in our country.
