No barriers in VenetoThe Regional Board of Veneto has disposed a budget of €1 Million to perform 87 new actions to overcome architectural barriers in public buildings and in social housing. The aim is to guarantee the accessibility of public buildings and spaces and for social housing. The plan previews actions for structural The project aims at adjusting buildings’structure, demolishing architectural features that block access to the handicapped with accessible walks, the realization of ramps, elevators, stairs and platform lifts. He budget will be managed by each province which will finance the specific actions of their area. The planning is of 9 actions in Belluno with €49.161, 11 in Padua with €124.414, 6 in Rovigo for €40.142, 15 actions and €158.334 for Treviso, 8 in Venice with €145.311, 29 in Vicenza for €289.476, 9 in Verona for €145.540. |

To overcome prejudices and stereotypes, to enhance experiences and best practices, to spread information through concrete initiatives on the territory in order to allow for a full participation of the people with disabilities. This is the goal of the project “Disability and Social Exclusion” (DSE) co-financed by the European Commission. Through territorial and communication plans, the programme aims at carrying out a real cultural change for the overcoming of discriminatory behaviours towards people with disabilities, that are still widespread in our country.
